Edit Your life.

Welcome to Inner Edit Counseling!

While we are forced to function in a world full of broken systems, unexpected transitions and emotional upheaval, we’re often left feeling drained, confused, stuck in the suffering & not like our most authentic selves. Some of us want to change patterns of behavior that feel safe but certainly don’t serve us. Some have busted-up, broken hearts. Sometimes, it’s that we are scared out of our minds to try something that could change our lives. My hope is that if there are things in your life you wish were different, together we can identify them, explore what’s getting in the way, and help shift the story you tell yourself that keeps you stuck. Edit your story. Edit your life.

I want to truly hear you and help you confront the chaos you feel with support, compassion and grace, and trust me, we’ll laugh (and maybe cry, yes) along the way. I strive for chill vibes, unconditional respect for you and guided exploration of your feelings and thoughts in session.

individual Counseling Sessions

available in-person & online

  • This is a valuable way to reflect back on the impact that your family of origin (your parents and their parents, etc) has had on your life so that you can pursue healthier avenues. This isn’t a “trash your family” exercise, but an intentional way to change the course of your family tree for the better while processing how the past has affected you.

  • Parenting is not for the faint of heart, and the emotional toll that pregnancy, delivery, figuring out how to feed your baby and raising little ones who are happy & healthy can bring is a whole new challenge to living our authentic lives. Nobody gives us a guidebook on how to do it, and it can be isolating, lonely and incredibly difficult. I’m here to offer you support, guidance, and a safe place to talk about how motherhood & parenting has changed you so you can show up as the best parent possible.

  • Do you find yourself consumed with your thoughts and worries? Feeling like you can’t find resolution to problems by thinking your way out of them? Maybe you notice your heart is racing often, or you feel shaky and nervous all the time. Let’s get to the root of it all and pursue more peace!

  • Are you feeling down, sad, hopeless or uninterested in things you used to love? At Inner Edit, you can cry and verbal vomit without judgment or shame. After you let it out, we’ll explore new ways to find yourself again.

  • Life rarely stays the same for long; we all begin and end relationships and careers, have unexpected health issues, financial stress, shifting family structures… and it just keeps going! These changes can affect our mood and daily living. If you don’t want to go through it alone, I’m here to help you build the skills you need to navigate it with more ease!

  • Are you interested in exploring your faith or have you recently experienced a crisis of faith? When something so integral to our daily lives shifts in unexpected ways, the emotional upheaval is REAL. Without shame or judgment, we can process and explore to help you discover what you really believe.

  • Being an adoptee and adopting a child are unique life experiences that often carry with them complex emotions. I have experience exploring these life circumstances and helping clients find a greater sense of self and peace in them.

  • Do you often feel taken advantage of or burnt out by commitments? Is it hard to say “no” when you don’t want to do something? Do you want to change the way a relationship makes you feel? We can work on finding the reasons you struggle and practice embracing better boundaries for a life that is more in line with the real you.

Hi! I’m Gina

In the office (or on the screen), my first priorities are to help you feel comfortable, safe and understood. Research shows that the most important element to success in therapy is the connection with your therapist, and I’m here to build that with you. With 16 years in the mental health field, I aim to give you the practical tools to manage your day-to-day with more ease while also assessing the bigger picture and guiding you to identify what you want, need and hope to gain in life.

Out of the office, I love reading, yoga, walking my neighborhood with my dog by my side and a podcast playing, watching documentaries and junk journaling. I’m a mom too, so I spend loads of time doing all of the mom things. I’ve experienced incredible emotional transformations through different bouts of therapy in my own life, and I strive to give others the opportunity to do the same.

Your Questions, Answered

  • I offer individual counseling for adults of all ages (and yes, I work with men - I may have a pink website but pink is for men, too!). Sessions are roughly 50 minutes and held in the office in Allison Park or virtually. While I use techniques from evidence-based treatments like CBT and DBT, I also explore your family system and its impact on you. I’m happy to get creative in counseling, too, pulling in different methods and tools that make sense for YOU.

  • Sessions are $130 by private pay or using insurance. I’m currently in network with Aetna & Highmark. Your insurance company will be able to tell you the specific cost when it comes to coinsurance or copay by calling the number on the back of your card. I can also provide you with a superbill if you are out of my insurance networks, which may allow for reimbursement from your insurance company if you pay out of pocket. A credit card is kept on file for session & cancellation fees.

  • I’m licensed in the state of PA, so all sessions are required to be held in PA. This can be in the office in Allison Park, PA or virtual, as long as you are also in PA at the time of session.

  • I totally understand that life happens and things interfere with our schedules. I just ask that you cancel or reschedule your session 24 hours before the scheduled time, or there will be a $50 cancellation fee charged.

  • Getting started is simple! Reach out via phone or email. We’ll schedule a free 15 minute consult to talk briefly about your presenting concerns, our schedules and payment options - and then we’ll go from there!
